today it was all the usual run of the mill stuff, I arrived at Mum n Dads place to drop the kids off so I could go to work, Max got excited yelling out Poppy, Poppy, as he was running up to him with his arms up.
then Max starts to cry, at first we all think Bloody Poppy, being too rough again................just like I remember him doing to us as kids. so Poppy picks him up, but Max reaches out for me, so I take him and give him a cuddle, but his left arm is all floppy, so I sat on the lounge and we think maybe he has a corked or pulled muscle or something.
after about 5mins of him being still on my lap he stopped crying, I gave him some neurofen and moved his arm to see if there was any change, and he cries again. so then took him into the spare room and laid him on the bed to check his shoulders, I held his dummy above him to see if he would reach for it, he does with his right hand but doesn't move his left, so I picked him back up and his left arm was all floppy trailing under him,he didn't even try to lift it up, he has gone pretty pale about now. poor little man. he looked up at me with the look of worry on his face. I asked him where it hurts and he pointed to his left elbow.
after another 5mins of doing the wait and see if it gets any better thing, I decided to take him to campbeltown hospital. we got to reception and we were called in after only waiting about 2 mins. a Dr came to have a look at him first, just to see where they thought they needed to take any x-rays, shoulder wrist or elbow areas, she put 1 hand on his elbow and her other hand on his wrist, she did a pull and a twist and after a big cry, he pointed to his elbow again , but this time he was smiling.
they said he had popped his elbow. I will ring the hospital tomorrow and actually ask them to tell me again what he did, I was just so happy for him, that after they had fixed him, I forgot to listen to anything else they were saying LOL.
My Dad said he had held Max's hands, and then Max lifted his feet off the floor, and as he did that, he has pulled is elbow out of wack. ( which we didn't know at the time)
Mum followed me to the hosp, so then she took Max back to her place and I went to work. the hospital is about half way between Mums and my work.
at first, I thought it was his shoulder, but I should have paid more attention to Max , he kept pointing to his elbow.
he is as good as new now, Mum said he didn't complain or cry while I was at work, and I was only 15mins late for work too, can you believe that!
I think that will be the quickest emergency room visit I will ever do .LOL.
